My Sister’s House, the only community women’s centre in West Sussex, today announced it will be celebrating International Women’s Day 2018 on Thursday 8 March 2018 from 10am to 6pm at My Sister’s House CIC Arun & Chichester Women’s Centre in Bognor Regis at a special event open to all.

My Sister’s House is inviting the local community to join the team in their celebration of their recent achievements and meet potential donors and volunteers at their open house event.

Piloted by a group of local women in 2014, My Sister’s House has grown into a valued community asset. My Sister’s House provides safe, tailored, trauma informed, empowering, outcome-focused and holistic ‘extended casework’ support for women.

My Sister’s House CIC Arun & Chichester Women’s Centre recently undertook an expansion thanks to donations and the work of its local community and is now looking for a local company to donate a website. My Sister’s House is calling all volunteer web designers willing to design and pay hosting for My Sister’s House’s new website, or donors and patrons willing to hire a web designer or agency.

The Women’s Centre is also calling for potential new associate trainers to come talk to the team and join My Sister’s House to provide training and workshops for women. “We aim at creating an appropriate physical space where women’s issues can be addressed”, said Julie Budge, founder of My Sister’s House. “We want to recreate a family environment for women, and we view a relationship between our team and clients based on mutual trust as essential to creating the first steps towards change.”

The centre will be open to all and will provide a variety of activities for families and kids. The event will also provide guests with refreshments, shopping stands and information for anyone wanting to get involved with the centre.

“International Women’s Day is a day where we remember our sisters gone before us who have fought for our rights”, said Kitty Waters, chair of My Sister’s House. “It’s a day we should celebrate and make our own, a day that we can mark to show how far women have come and commit to going further.”

My Sister’s House is committed to enabling and empowering women of all ages to improve their life chances and fulfil their aspirations. The open house event will take place on Thursday 8 March 2018 from 10am to 6pm at My Sister’s House CIC Arun & Chichester Women’s Centre, 3-6 Clock Walk, 7-11 High Street, Bognor Regis, PO21 1SG.
